Update

I wonder how they define first class. Should I feel excited about this? Mmm...

When we arrived from Cebu last Wednesday we were surprised to see a booth of the Regional tourism office inside the Airport. They gave us maps of the Butuan for free. This is what I'm using to check the names of the street of my city. Very useful.

I'm not a detailed orientated person most of the time. Details like street names are not important to me. Not until I'm writing a blog that is.

An Update

Old Photo File Series # 5

This is "ginanggang na Saging" or grilled (?) banana coated with margarine. This is another way of cooking banana. I like it... in its smoky, margariney kind of way. :)

Okay the updates are: First- I lost my all of my photos from my laptop (This means all the photos I took with my Fuji S5700) and Second- my Internet provider has gone bonkers again. Anyway, I'm still giving Globe the benefit of a doubt because they're kind of new in Butuan. But I have to say Philcom dial-up is more reliable than they are. Dirt cheap too. Sigh.

So I'm here at this busy-busy Internet cafe with my USB thumbdrive. Its a good thing I have this banana photo left for me to post here.

And... the essays are not finished yet. Sheesh. I'm writing those things so I can apply for a scholarship. I don't know when the heck I will stop with this learning business. =)

 There's a chance I might not be able to post photos every day. As some of you might know there's trouble here in Mindanao. My Internet provider is affected, among others.  Please pray for those people in the middle of the chaos.

New Urios at

Do you know that Urios College is now called Father Saturnino Urios University? Of course you do.

By the way do you also know that Urios Grade and High school is moved to its new location at Ambago, Butuan City? My anonymous source tells me that the construction is nearly done.

Something Relatively New

Do you know that there are two new primary (I think) hospital here in Butuan? CARAGA Hospital is one. I went there with my buddy. Oh goody! I have a new photo subject!

A tragic day in Butuan

To those who frequent this blog I apologize for not updating this site daily as I promised. It seems that sometimes when it rains it really pours and that is what happened. There was a lot of technical difficulties that add up together. Unfortunately this post after my brief absence isn't very sunny at all. There was a fire incident yesterday morning, April 9, 2008 at Brgy. Limaja, Langihan (according to the fire department) Butuan City.

I happen to glance outside from my window and I saw this-

I called the fire station at 10.30 am to make sure that they already know about the fire. I was worried because I didn't hear any sirens at all. I thought the fire was only at Zamora street. Look at how near the smoke looks from my bedroom window and I live at Guingona area. The good news was that the firetruck was already on its way. I just hope there were no casualties (?) I just heard from my mother that approximately 200 houses burned down. I haven't confirmed it yet but I will soon after I finish writing this up.

Before our day is totally ruined by this tragic news this morning I will leave you with a few photos taken at the new crossing of the new bridge. You know, the road at the end of South of Montilla. The place is great for taking photos of sunset and other only- in- the- Philippines happenings.

Turtle Pace?

People usually say that Butuan is a backward City. I say Butuan is moving forward. Forward Butuan!

...Moving at a turtle pace maybe, but it is NOT a backward city! And I have evidence of progress, of growth, to prove it!

Anyway he he he I'm just showing you another currently constructed building that is soon going to replace the old Timberlanes with this new Timberlanes:

Anticipating and Salivating

I get excited at the simplest of things. This time I'm quietly anticipating the opening of this new restaurant, Rosario's Grill House. It's currently being constructed along J.C Aquino Avenue besides the Uncle Sam's(?) and one other eating place that I forgot already. Don't worry I'll find out other facts soon.

I hope the food is going to be good. Ohhh!
