Every year during the fiesta of St. Joseph another event that is pretty important in the Butuanon social calendar is the alumni homecoming. Yesterday (May 16) was another Alumni Homecoming of the two biggest high schools in Butuan: Agusan National High School and Father Saturnino Urios University.

For the first time ever the Alumni homcoming of FSUU was held at the new high school gym at Brgy. Ambago, Btc.

Before the progam proper began, dinner was started. Most of the batches had their food catered. We did too, for the first time in 12 years. Ha ha.

There was a best in t-shirt (designs and stuff), best in decorations (next year we'll win this one for sure haha), most number of attendees in their batch. Unfortunately we didn't win any award-- we only prepared for a week. But watch out next year!

Morelos Campus

Photobucket

This is the Morelos Campus of Father Saturnino Urios University, a catholic private university, located at Ambago, Brgy. Libertad.

Permits are needed to take pictures inside the school, so I guess this will have to do.

What if?

Photobucket

My main subject in this photo is the boy with the percussion instrument who was looking pensive amidst the festivities. I figured that he and the other boy are members of a nomadic tribe that usually appears in the city during the christmas season (Which means in the Philippines as the months ending with -er, September, October etc.) (Notice the barefeet and the bamboo musical instrument.)

October 20- up to 25 was the 23rd foundation week of Grace Christian School. This photo was taken with my Kodak DC290 while I was dropped by the tricycle near the school area. The road was blocked while Grace Christian School celebrated their school's anniversary in the street.

Hitch

Photobucket

I was waiting for my friend to finish with her business at a printing shop when I decided to go outside and try to take a photo. This was taken at Montilla Boulevard, just across SJIT (Saint Joseph Institute of Technology). I felt a bit frustrated that I wasn't able to take a photo of the school earlier when there was still light.

I wonder where this couple is going with their luggage. They had been standing there for a while while I was busy taking pictures.

New Urios at

Do you know that Urios College is now called Father Saturnino Urios University? Of course you do.

By the way do you also know that Urios Grade and High school is moved to its new location at Ambago, Butuan City? My anonymous source tells me that the construction is nearly done.
