Sweet Camote

Photobucket

I took this boiled sweet potato at the beach yesterday. It's a Filipino beach food! (It is isn't it?) Together with kinilaw, sinugbang baboy and isda (grilled pork and fish), and lechon. Drool. Boiled camote was an acquired taste for me-- it does taste great with the grilled pork!

Looks like Thanksgiving at our house, although we do eat a lot of sweet potatoes through the year!

Tasty photograph!

Unlike you and Arabesque, I actually prefer my camote boiled then just drizzled with caramel sauce. Kamote-Q caramel is usually too thick. Aside from being too sweet, one can break a tooth on those things! ;)
