Butuanons'

Love affair with Flip flops.

Gah.

(Sorry this is all I can muster for my daily gig. My work is killing me.)

This is kinilaw. Kinilaw=Raw fish (usually tuna), vinegar, onions, ginger, hot pepper etc. There are different styles to prepare this food. Some are mixed with either milk, mayonnaise.

Some are sweet, others are a mixture of sweet and sour and hot goodness. One of my family's favorite restaurant for ordering kinilaw is Aling Cora's. Mmmm!

Tita's Cafe

For those Butuanons craving for something filling and nostalgic, I'm posting Tita's Siopao. Soft white bun filled with yummy meaty goodness. (May, should I ask Tita's for advertising fees here? Hehe just kidding)

This is the end of my Touristy trip part I.

I'll be back to my regular posting tomorrow. Ciao.

Food Scene at Margie's

I think Margie is now slowly changing the Butuanon's perception about her food. Margie's isn't only about wonderful- to- the- palate- cakes anymore. Look at the yummy fresh lumpia!
(I'm making myself hungry.)

Weegol's

Due to the popularity (according to me) of my food blogs, I posted another Butuan favorite from Weegol's--Chicken Barbecue with atsara and rice.

Margie's

Remember Margie's cakes?
Of course you do. If you haven't been in Butuan for a long time they now have a cafe shop at Zamora Street. Its a another favorite place for Butuanons to be (seen) at. Expect to see folks of every age and sizes bringing their laptops as they enjoy the hotspot that is Margie's (and Pan de Pugon)

Walking Around Town- Random Photo Two

Can you guess which part of Butuan this is?

Do you remember the Girlie's Burger Shop of old? I remember how I marveled at its circular (?) staircase, and enjoyed the pizza and burger aroma inside the shop. How about water fountain at the plaza? I can still picture how huge it was and how powerful. Although if it still existed up to now, it probably wasn't as big or as powerful as I thought it was.

Gosh I still can't believe Annie's Gift Shop is now gone- replaced with another shop that I haven't been acquainted with.

But before nostalgia truly overcomes me let me just say,

Happy Easter Sunday!
