Binangkal

Photobucket

I saw this woman selling "binangkal" or as what my search in google say, sesami seed round bread/donut at SSS building. I asked her for a photo and she shyly agreed. The seven pieces/pack costs twenty pesos. Each piece costs three pesos. I observed how many of our desserts are designed to be heavy on the stomach. I mean, you get easily full eating binangkal. I guess Filipino practicality is at work here. Do you know any Filipino dessert that's light, and fluffy?

Sesame seeds? Ooh, yummy! I'll eat almost anything with toasted sesame seeds (and poppy seeds).

I wonder if there's any street vendor that sells binangkal here…

It's morning here, but I'll get a couple of binangkal. Here we have some bread with sunflowers seeds too.
