Philippine Flag Day

Today is Flag day. I only learned of that fact after observing that it seems like Butuan was suddenly suffused with feelings of nationalistic fervor-- there are Philippine flags in almost every electric poles, motorcycles, houses, government offices and at the plaza. Photo to follow.

I think it makes us look beyond our immediate crisis (like mahal na ang bugas) for a moment and be aware of something bigger than ourselves.
