War and Peace Memorial

This monument is found at Butuan City Library. I've passed by it a couple of times, took photos of it  but not really got close enough to read the fine print on that plaque. So if you're curious as to what it is I typed it down for you:

This "War and Peace Commermorative Memorial - A tribute to the Filipino-American-Japanese Veterans - Former Foes - Now Friends - To symbolize Unity Among Former Enemies - that people of diverse culture, who once met to kill each other as war combatants can reunite and be friends with compassion for each other as enlightened human beings - extend warm handshakes, embrace each other without rifles and bayonets.
