In the Beginning...
This sight can be seen when you enter the Butuan City Library.
Butuan is called "Historic Butuan" because pre-historic boats called Balangays were found here a testament to how old Butuan really is. The boats were carbon dated at 320 AD, 90 AD, and 1250 AD. (RER-PIA 13 Caraga). It was said that there was no Philippines yet but Butuan was already a thriving community (barangay).
